Queen - See What A Fool I've Been (De Lane Lea Test Sessions)
This version of See What A Fool I've Been comes from the Queen 1 - Collector's Edition CD3 and was released on October 25th, 2024 in the UK. Freddie jokingly slates this as "Take 36" (which the engineer, Terry Johnston, dutifully records as such on the tape's label). After some studio banter, the band launch into the song. Being a test session, as noted on the tape's label, the two December 10 recordings are the band running through the songs so that the engineers can test the equipment, rather than being proper demo sessions, which involve multiple dedicated takes to create a finished master recording. Here, the band is playing the song together live off the studio floor, sounding much as they would on stage at the time. The result is a version similar to the later BBC performance. The unexpected inclusion of this track is one of the highlights of the 2024 Queen I Collector's Edition.
