Cabra florida autóctona

The best Florida goat in Spain belongs to the "Definición Verde" farm in San José del Valle (Cádiz Province), according to the jury's assessment at the Zafra National Competition (Badajoz). The Florida goat is a native dairy breed from the lower Guadalquivir region, dating back to the early 20th century. The National Association of Breeders of Florida Goats, ACRIFLOR, represents the sector and implements a genetic improvement plan that includes, among other activities, official milk recording and an artificial insemination program. "Definición Verde" is considered the best farm in Spain, having won awards in a dozen categories for both bucks and does and their offspring. It produces more than 250,000 liters of milk annually, which it sells entirely to the French company Fromandal. There is concern about the low prices set by the industry in this sector. Presentation by Juan Antonio González Granado (Livestock Owner of the “Definición Verde” farm) and María Dolores López Fariña (Executive Secretary of ACRIFLOR). [Land and Sea Program 1190.
