Massive Flood Threat in Jajpur: Kani River Embankment Breached at 2 Places in Dasarathpur! ଯାଜପୁର ଦଶରଥପୁର ବ୍ଲକ ବୈତରଣୀ ନଦୀ ଶାଖା କାଣୀ ନଦୀର କଣ୍ଟପଡାଠାରେ ୨ଟି ଘାଇ.... ଗୋଟିଏ ୫୦ ଫୁଟ ଏବଂ ଆଉ ଗୋଟେ ୩୦ ଫୁଟର ଘାଇ ସୁଷ୍ଟି ହୋଇଛି । ଘାଇ ଦୁଇଟି ନଦୀବନ୍ଧର ଡାହାଣ ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱରେ ହୋଇଥିଲା ବେଳେ ଚାଷ ଜମି ପାଖରେ ଘାଇ ସୃଷ୍ଟି ହୋଇଛି । ବ୍ଲକର ମଲିକାପୁର, ଦୁଦୁରାଅଣ୍ଟା, ଶୁଶୁଆ, ମଙ୍ଗଳପୁର, କନିକାପଡା ଆଦି ପଞ୍ଚାୟତ ଚାଷ ଜମିରେ ବନ୍ୟା ଜଳ ପ୍ରଭାବିତ ହେଉଛି। କିଛି ତଳି ଅଂଚଳରେ ମଧ୍ୟ ବନ୍ୟା ଜଳ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରିଥିବା ଜଣାପଡିଛି । ତେବେ ୧୫ ଦିନ ଭିତରେ ନିର୍ମାଣ ହୋଇଥିଲା ଏହି ନଦୀ ବନ୍ଧ । ଲଗାଣ ବର୍ଷା କାରଣରୁ ନୂତନ ଭାବେ ନିର୍ମାଣ ହୋଇଥିବା ଏହି ନଦୀ ବନ୍ଧ ଦୁର୍ବଳ ହୋଇପଡିଥିଲା Heavy monsoon rains have triggered a serious flood situation in Jajpur district. The newly constructed embankment of the Kani River (a major distributary of the Baitarani River) has breached at two locations in Kontapada under Dasarathpur block. Massive breaches of 50 feet and 30 feet have formed on the right side of the riverbank, letting rushing floodwaters submerge thousands of acres of farmland across Malikapur, Duduraanta, Shushua, Mangalpur, and Kanikapada panchayats.
