During his studies, Strauch directed various short films, including "Futter," "Das Taschenorgan," and "Das grüne Schaf," and received numerous awards for them, including the Hessian Film Prize and the German Short Film Prize, as well as numerous distinctions and prizes at national and international festivals. Strauch works as an actor, writer, and director. His first feature film, "Die Aufschneider," was made in 2007, starring himself, along with Rainer Ewerrien, Christoph Maria Herbst, and Cosma Shiva Hagen, among others. In the comedy series "Götter wie wir" (Gods Like Us), Strauch not only plays one of the two main roles, but also takes on five additional roles, serving as director, writer, and co-producer. Piotr J. Lewandowski is on board as the second director. Rainer Ewerrien also contributes as a writer, in several roles, and as Ingeborg Gott. Nina Werth is also a co-writer. Some press comments: "Germany has a new TV highlight... Absurd, but always sophisticated. Anarchic, but always sophisticated... Canonization can only be a matter of time with such a great format" (Quotenmeter.de), "A comedy format that is not only incredibly funny and refreshingly cheeky, but also looks fabulous" (Journal Frankfurt), "This little series is definitely one of the television highlights of the year" (FAZ.net). The six-part comedy series broke all ratings records on ZDF.kultur, won both the German and Hessian Television Awards, and received a nomination for the Grimme Award. Since 2015, Strauch has been a permanent member of the ensemble of the successful ZDF comedy series "Sketch-History," which also received a Grimme Award nomination and won two German Comedy Awards.
