Even during his studies, Strauch directed several short films, including "Futter" (Food), "Das Taschenorgan" (The Pocket Organ), and "Das grüne Schaf" (The Green Sheep), receiving numerous awards, including the Hessian Film Prize, the German Short Film Prize, and many accolades and prizes at national and international festivals. Strauch works as an actor, writer, and director. His first feature film, "Die Aufschneider" (The Cutters), was released in 2007, starring himself, Rainer Ewerrien, Christoph Maria Herbst, and Cosma Shiva Hagen. In the comedy series "Götter wie wir" (Gods Like Us), Strauch not only plays one of the two main roles but also takes on five additional roles, serving as director, writer, and co-producer. Piotr J. Lewandowski is the second director. Rainer Ewerrien also contributes as a writer, plays several roles, and portrays Ingeborg Gott. Nina Werth is another writer. Some press reviews: "Germany has a new TV highlight... Absurd, but always sophisticated. Anarchic, but always classy... Since 2015, Strauch has been a regular cast member of the successful ZDF comedy series "Sketch History," which also received a Grimme Prize nomination and won the German Comedy Award twice.
