How to Hit a Forehand Roll in Pickleball

Struggling to hit a clean forehand roll in pickleball? In this CCC, I work with Bo on learning the forehand roll from scratch. He had never consciously used this shot before, so we focused on building the mechanics step by step. His biggest issues were: • Using too much wrist • Not understanding paddle angle • Standing up through contact • Poor timing on the ball We worked on proper body positioning, staying low through contact, and letting the forearm create the shape and momentum instead of flicking with the wrist. A big key was learning to wait for the ball to dip and making contact out in front while staying stable. With those adjustments, his forehand roll became much more consistent and powerful. Now it’s just about getting reps and building confidence in real points. If your forehand roll feels inconsistent or hard to control, this breakdown will help you understand why it’s not working and how to fix it. This video is part of my CCC (Cori’s Court Correction) series — real players, real coaching, real fixes you can apply to your own game. 👉 Subscribe for more pickleball lessons, drills, and strategy!
