Ядерне роззброєння України: що ми втратили?
“We should have preserved it - then we would not have had a war, we would have been respected and feared.” These are the words of most ordinary Ukrainians, and sometimes even former military officers who once operated the most terrible weapons on the planet. We categorically disagree. We are convinced that if Ukraine were to retain nuclear weapons, it would turn into at least a North Korea or Iran - a global pariah in the center of Europe. This is a utopian and unrealistic scenario. What happened is what happened. Of course, the course of events could have been different and left us with something better than the Budapest Memorandum. A lot of films have been made about Ukraine's nuclear weapons, but we, as always, did things our way: we delved into the ruins and thickets of what once made the entire capitalist world tremble. We did not interview high-ranking officials or ministers. Instead, we talked to uncles whose gardens were home to missiles that could turn the Earth into nuclear ash in a matter of minutes. With those who built these complexes. With those who later dismantled state property worth billions, which in an instant became “no one's”. We even found a Russian colonel who was ready to press the launch button at any moment and destroy half of Europe. At the same time, he was grazing goats and cows right on the missile silos to somehow feed himself and the soldiers guarding these terrible weapons. In the 90s, he even caught our president, who almost fell into one of the mines (maybe he would have been better off if he had 😂). I couldn't keep it short because this is a really big, interesting, and unique story. A story told from the ruins of Ukraine's only rocket army. An hour and a half of the movie, after which everyone will draw their own conclusions: whether we could have kept nuclear weapons, and whether it would have really made the current war impossible. It will definitely not be boring. Because everything will be in the style of “no makeup and no decorations”. Sincere and real.
