Der Geher in Hamburg: Steilshoop

I am Der Geher and start at the Bramfelder lake to go through Steilshoop. After a few small houses I walk through the courtyards of the high-rise housing estate. The shopping center Steilshoop and the Martin Luther King church form the center of the settlement at Gründgenstraße. The path leads through a park and an industrial area back to the high-rise buildings. The most striking part of Steilshoop is the large housing estate for 22,000 people in the north of the district. Built starting in 1969, the complex consists of numerous rings of houses of various shapes along Gründgenstraße. Before the settlement, there were gardens at the site, some of which are still preserved.
