Nobuo Uematsu’s Advent: One-Winged Angel from Final Fantasy VII Advent Children rebuilt as Sovia’s Soviet Ver. into a Soviet military rock ritual against Capital. ─── Comrades, This time, the One-Winged Angel does not return as a monster. He returns as Capital. He enters the city with promises of freedom, prosperity, equal exchange, and peace. No fire. No army. No obvious invasion. Only contracts, white signboards, golden words, and a beautiful face. But the city remembers the price. So the answer is simple: Do not call him back from memory. Do not open the gates. Stop the descent of Capital. This is Advent: One-Winged Angel, rebuilt as the return of Capital and the city’s answer against it. ─── 🎵 Adapted from Nobuo Uematsu「再臨:片翼の天使 ～Advent: One-Winged Angel～」, from Final Fantasy VII Advent Children. For this Soviet Ver., I changed the direction from a direct “final boss” feeling into a more conceptual threat. The original One-Winged Angel has that sacred, terrifying, almost ritual-like atmosphere. Instead of simply making it bigger and darker, I imagined a different kind of return: Capital arriving with elegant words, legal documents, promises of freedom, and the appearance of peace. Musically, I moved the arrangement toward Soviet military rock. The foundation is still dark choir and orchestral brass, but the rhythm is pushed forward by marching snare, heavy downbeat bass guitar, and distorted rock energy. The first half is meant to feel like temptation and ceremony. The second half becomes a counter-choir, where the city finally answers back.
