First Day Hike 2026 - Ozark Highland Trail (Marinoni Section)
Welcome to 2026! A common custom for many across the country is to go out and hike on the first day of the new year. Hence, 'First Day' hikes have become very popular. I knew there would be crowds at our state and national parks so I choose a section of the Ozark Highland Trail that was more secluded. We hiked from mile markers 51 to 54. It's a beautiful stretch of trail with nice waterfalls and rock formations. The weather was cool (40-60 degrees) with lots of sun. It was a great way to start the year. Hope you enjoy the scenes you see here.
