ROV Thruster Testing

Testing out various configurations of some bilge pump motors converted into ROV thrusters. Here I tested out a 1000gph and a 500gph bilge pump motor with a RC boat propeller. Comparing the W per lb of thrust values, the propeller configuration wins outright compared to the more simplistic bilge pump thruster using it as a pump. The added functionality of reverse thrust only adds to the versatility of a propeller based thruster. Some future tests will likely involve creating a Kort nozzle, or at least a rudimentary shroud around the propeller. Ducting the flow should increase the thrust even further, giving more efficiency gains.
