Measure Theory for Beginners (following S. Axler), Tuesday stream

An introduction to measure and integration theory, based on S. Axler's Measure, Integration, and Real Analysis. Link to the book (completely free) and supplements: https://measure.axler.net/ The official prerequisite is elementary real analysis. But I will try to provide as much preparatory explanation as possible. Should there be a sizable audience, the stream will be made regular. We will briefly remark on the deficiency of Riemann's theory of integration. The focus of this Tuesday is on *outer measures*; we will be writing our own notes. The process is an active audit of arguments. I will try, as much as possible, to put myself in the shoes of someone exposed to the subject for 1st time, rather than "thinking ahead".
