Enfermedad del ARAÑAZO del GATO 🐱👱👩 | ¿Afecta a gatos y a humanos? ¿Cómo se transmite?
Lately, I've received many questions and concerns about "cat scratch disease." What is it? Is it really dangerous? How can we prevent it? Is it easily transmitted? In today's video, we're going to try to shed some light on all of this, especially to dispel any negativity it might have towards cats (as if there weren't already enough dark legends about our feline companions). Behind this name, which demonizes cats, lies a bacterium: Bartonella hanselae, which lives inside the red blood cells of the animals it infects. Generally, if a cat is infected, it can transmit it through a scratch or bite. However, bites from infected fleas can also be a source of transmission. But there are cats that eliminate the bacteria from their bodies, and these cats can no longer transmit it; Therefore, only a small percentage of cats would be able to transmit it to other cats or people. Studies I used as a basis for this video: On Bartonella hanselae seropositive cats: https://www.researchgate.net/publicat... On Bartonella hanselae seropositive people: https://www.cambridge.org/core/journa... We'll also explain the common symptoms in both cats and people (swelling, swollen lymph nodes, fever, malaise, etc.), and why it can affect people with weakened immune systems. affecting them more, etc. And finally, we'll delve into prevention: how with three simple precautions you can prevent your cat from developing the Bartonella hanselae bacteria in its blood. We hope you find this helpful and that you continue to support us so we can keep providing interesting content about pet care.
