The MG EHS 2025 is a car that significantly improves on the previous model, maintaining its positioning as a plug-in hybrid SUV at a competitive price. Grown in size to over 4.60 meters, it features a more aerodynamic and modern design, with thin headlights joined by a black band and a grille enriched with chromatic details. The restyling includes 19-inch wheels and a more spacious trunk, with a capacity of approximately 450 liters despite the size of the battery. The car, while maintaining a focus on comfort and practicality, incorporates technological and mechanical improvements that make it more efficient and comfortable than the previous generation. The cabin of the new MG EHS offers greater habitability and an advanced technological touch. The rear seats are spacious and comfortable, also suitable for tall passengers, while the front dashboard integrates two 12.3-inch screens in a single panel, offering an intuitive and complete experience. Infotainment, similar to that of the MG4, includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, albeit only via cable. However, it lacks USB Type-C sockets, which are now considered essential. Despite these limitations, the system is smooth and well-designed, with advanced features such as wireless charging and high-quality 360° cameras. On the performance front, the MG EHS combines a 1.5 turbo 141 hp internal combustion engine with a 200 hp electric motor, for a total power output of over 300 hp. This allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds, a decent result for an SUV in its segment. The 24 kWh net battery offers an electric range of up to 125 km, one of the best values ​​in the category. Even with a flat battery, the system operates as a full hybrid to improve fuel consumption, which stands at 12-13 km/l, comparable to that of the lighter petrol-only version. Driving comfort is excellent, with a calibration that favors convenience over sporty performance. There are some flaws, such as a sometimes uncertain ADAS system and slow charging, limited to a maximum of 3.7 kW. However, the MG EHS stands out for its ability to meet the needs of those looking for a practical, comfortable car with a good quality-price ratio. Thanks to technological improvements, efficiency and a renewed design, the car represents a mature evolution compared to the previous generation, confirming itself as a valid choice in the plug-in hybrid SUV segment.
