Mount Rainier National Park - Naches Peak Loop Trail

The Naches Peak Loop Trail is one of the best bang for your buck hiking trails in the vicinity of Mount Rainier National Park. Only 3.5 miles long and moderately difficult and family friendly, it offers majestic alpine scenery in abundance, carpets of colorful mountain wildflowers if you time it right, fresh huckleberry/blueberries along the trail and enough sweet mountain air to unclog any urban dwellers pollution choked lungs. The trail is accessed by Washington State Highway 410 about a 50 minute drive south of the town of Enumclaw. You only get a few months of summer up at this elevation so the trail can be crowded on weekends and holidays. But if you can come early morning on a weekday you just might get long stretches of the trail all to yourself.
