The DC Comics MOBA That Lasted Only 6 Months - Infinite Crisis
What happened to Infinite Crisis? At the height of the Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) craze in the early 2010s, developers were rushing to get a slice of the pie after seeing the success of League of Legends and Dota 2. Not one to miss out on the rise of esports and the MOBA market, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, in partnership with Turbine, created a video game featuring iconic DC characters, Infinite Crisis. While the title may have been a latecomer to the genre, Turbine was able to get a playable product into beta testing and eventually ship it live in a remarkable time. Gradually, an esports scene began to form as well as a burgeoning community, but even with such a strong IP at hand, the game met its demise just 6 months after launch.
