Whiskey River Railway Day 2025

We return to the 16" gauge Whiskey River Railway, located at the Little Amerricka Amusement Park in Marshall, WI, for the one day a year when they fire up all four of their steam locomotives (weather permitting and assuming no mechanical issues). This year they had the diesel fuel-fired 4-6-2s "Oakland Acorn" and "Melody Ranch Special" doubleheaded on the "freight train." This is the one we took a ride on, then get multiple runbys of all three trains at the "hill" where you can see the trains both on their way out and on their way back along the loop, with good stack talk as the returning trains make their way upgrade towards the tunnel. There's always a whistle salute, as well! Note the Acorn/Melody Ranch Special's train features the caboose from the defunct Arborway, T.T. (TreeTop) & NorthWestern in Steelville, Missouri.
