Bikepacking the Royal Chilterns Way - Hills, Balloons & Toasties
Join me and Ewan as we take on the brand new Royal Chilterns Way, @CyclingUK ’s latest long-distance bikepacking route. Over the August Bank Holiday we cycled 180 miles with more than 12,000 feet of climbing through the Chiltern Hills, starting and finishing at Reading station. Across three and a bit days we tackled steep chalk climbs, forest trails, and flinty bridleways; stopped for cheese toasties, parkrun, and pub burgers; and camped under the stars in some of the most beautiful countryside just outside London. From the Whiteleaf Hill chalk cross to Dunstable Downs, Henley-on-Thames to Wallingford, this is our full Royal Chilterns Way bikepacking adventure. If you’re planning to ride the Cycling UK Adventure Series (Cantii Way, Rebellion Way, etc.) or you’re looking for your next UK cycle tour, this video will give you a taste of what to expect on the Royal Chilterns Way — the challenges, the highlights, and everything in between. Read our blog post for more details on the route, places stayed etc. https://www.alittleadventure.uk/bikep... 👉 Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more UK bikepacking routes and family cycling adventures! https://www.youtube.com/alittleadvent... Our weekends often start with parkrun. Iona is on a non-repeat parkrun tourism streak having now visited over 180 different places since she started parkrunning. But we don’t just do parkun and dash home, we love exploring the area and often use bikes and trains for our travels to keep our carbon footprint low and because it adds to the adventure too. When school holidays arrive, longer adventures are possible with Ewan and Iona both being keen cycle tourists and mountain climbers! So if you like heading outdoors and your idea of a perfect weekend includes parkrun, climbing a mountain or exploring new places on two wheels then we would love to have you join us on our adventures. We’d love it if you subscribed so you can follow our journey and hopefully be inspired to get out the door and have your own little adventures. Do like and leave comments on our videos too on questions you might have or ideas for places to explore or adventures to go on. =============================== Standard Filming Kit =============================== Fujifilm X-S20 with 18-55mm kit lens: https://amzn.to/45nb4NR DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro: https://amzn.to/4hPE05Q DJI Mic Mini: https://amzn.to/4c1SQVw RØDE VideoMicro Directional Mic: https://amzn.to/45nb4NR DJI Neo Fly More Combo: https://amzn.to/42cSmIV Music from Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com/referra...
