日本各地の水石産地とその特徴～水石の本質を捉えるということ～

In this episode of WABI CHANNEL, we introduce the regional origins of suiseki across Japan and the distinctive characteristics of these stones. Using representative stones such as those from the Kamo River, Seta River, Furuya, and Kamui Kotan, we explore the differences in stone quality and surface texture, as well as key points for discerning them. We also compare stones that are so similar that they are difficult to distinguish, even when their origins differ, and reflect on what “place of origin” truly means. Suiseki is not defined solely by where a stone comes from or by its name, but by the qualities it possesses and the landscape it evokes. We hope this video serves as a guide to understanding the true essence of suiseki.
