Goldwing GL 1500 Compu Fire alternator fitting
This is a video I shot whilst fitting a Compu Fire Alternator to my Goldwing 1500. With short city trips I found that the original alternator did not provide enough current at low revs to keep the battery charged. This is due to not running at high revs for lengthy periods of time. Running at low revs for short intervals and using reverse frequently drained the battery quicker than the original alternator could recover. The Compu Fire is rated at 90 amps and is claimed to have 2.5 times the output compared with the original. 19 Feb 2013 Thought I would let you know that the battery has had full power starts even between long spells sitting in the garage not being used.
