This video explores the filming locations for the 1957 movie "Downpour." This time, we're looking for the location of the large railroad crossing with a visible gas tank in the background. The gas tank was located in Minamisenju, Arakawa Ward, and a streetcar was visible near the crossing, so we determined that this was the large crossing that once existed in Minamisenju. Currently, this location is an overpass, and the crossing no longer exists. The footbridge that frequently appeared in the movie has also been moved and replaced. Despite trying to capture the same angle as the movie, we couldn't get it right... We assumed that the inn "Kotobuki," which was also used as a filming location, was located along the JR Joban Line, so we checked the site. The road that ran parallel to the tracks is gone, and now the Hibiya Line runs over it, leaving no trace of it. ... We inferred the location of the inn from Minamisenju signs, the Toden building near the large crossing, and the pylon, and then verified it on site.
