A tour of Fukuchiyama City's shopping arcades. Fukuchiyama City was a castle town and the intersection of the Sanin Main Line and Fukuchiyama Line, and once thrived with shoppers from surrounding towns. However, as society became more car-oriented, people began to move to suburban shops where cars could be easily parked. Most of the impressive shopping arcades now have their shutters closed. Since I couldn't get lunch in the shopping arcades, I went for a katsudon (pork cutlet bowl) along a national highway in the suburbs.
