Maizuru City is divided into two districts, East and West. This time, we walked through East Maizuru, which flourished as a military port city. Starting at the Daimon-Sanjo intersection in the city center, we circled the area, passing through the main street, Sanjo-dori, the shopping arcade, Yashima-dori, the street lined with restaurants, and Daimon-dori, home to many long-established businesses. While the grid-like road network and street names like "○jo-dori" ("○jo-dori") are reminiscent of Kyoto, perhaps due to the city's generally wide roads, the area somehow felt more like a regional city in Hokkaido. In the final bonus section, we'll introduce all 46 named streets in East Maizuru.
