Volume I: 1943, published in 2023 by Libreria Editrice Psiche, Libreria Rotondi is offering a meeting on the great Armenian spiritual master. G.I. Gurdjieff was born in the city of Alexandropol in Russian Armenia to a Greek father and an Armenian mother. The date 1872 is engraved on his tombstone. Fundamental tenets of his teachings are the various aspects of human mechanicalness (the associative chains of thoughts, the body's useless tensions, hypnotic sleep while awake, automatic emotional reactions, etc.), along with the hope of a possible awakening as a result of constant and persevering self-work. This work seeks to harmoniously develop the three main centers of man: intellect, body, and feeling. And, as masterfully depicted in his allegory of the carriage, it is only through their growth and balance that a path to liberation can open up. A new path is therefore proposed, beyond those traditionally studied and handed down by religions and philosophies: the Fourth Way, also known as "Esoteric Christianity." A path that transcends and simultaneously brings together the experiences of the fakir (the body), the yogi (the intellect), and the monk (the feeling). His books also highlight the need to find a meeting point between Science and Religion, which have been in opposition for centuries and millennia, as well as the attempt to draw the best from Western and Eastern traditions: "Take the understanding of the East and the science of the West, then seek." The coordination of the groups dedicated to directly transmitting his teachings throughout the world is entrusted to the International Association of Gurdjieff Foundations, which comprises the four main organizations: the Gurdjieff Foundation in the United States, the Gurdjieff Society in the United Kingdom, the "historic" Gurdjieff Institute in Paris, and the Fundación Gurdjieff in Caracas, Venezuela. In Italy, the Foundation is present through the network of Italian Associations and Centers for Studies on the G.I.
