Mineral de Pozos is not a ghost town. It is a territory that has changed its purpose throughout the centuries. In this episode, we explore how artisanal agave and mezcal production in Guanajuato represent a new stage in the economic and cultural history of Pozos. Where there was once mining and the extraction of wealth, today there is agricultural work, stone ovens, and traditional distillation. But the story doesn't begin with mezcal. The second part of the tour takes us to the former Hacienda of Santa Brígida, one of the most powerful symbols of the region's mining past. Its ovens and ruins speak not only of colonial prosperity but also of conflict, territorial expansion, and Indigenous resistance.
