NECOM Screens Aspirants Ahead of Western Zone Elections

As preparations gather momentum for the July 2026 Western Zone elections of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders, NAGAFF, the NAGAFF Electoral Commission, NECOM, has commenced a two-day screening exercise for aspirants seeking elective positions across the association's chapters.The screening, which was held on Monday and Tuesday at the association’s headquarters in Lagos, featured aspirants from various chapters, including Apapa, Tin Can Island, Airport, and others. According to the commission, the exercise is aimed at assuring delegates and members of a credible, free, fair, and transparent electoral process ahead of the polls.In separate interviews with the NAGAFF Cargo Watch crew, aspirants from the Airport and Tin Can Island chapters outlined the reasons behind their decision to contest various positions, pledging to strengthen the association, improve members' welfare and provide purposeful leadership if elected.Speaking after his screening, the Chairmanship aspirant for the Tin Can Island Chapter, Forwarder Philip Emeka Nwankwo, said members should expect a new phase of progress under his leadership, with a focus on repositioning the chapter and promoting the interests of freight forwarders.The Western Zone election is expected to usher in a new set of executives who will steer the affairs of the association across the various chapters for the next tenure.
