Apartheid workers pension funds issue from before 1996 still unresolved
A group of former civil servants under the apartheid government in the old Bantustans are giving the government seven days to address the issue of unpaid pensions from before 1996. The pensioners that worked under Transkei, Bophuthatswana, Venda and Ciskei governments threaten to head to court if the matter is not resolved. They say that 4 months after President Cyril Ramaphosa announced a task team would be set up to address the matter of unpaid pensions and military veterans' benefits, so far nothing has happened.
