Bob Davis Interviews (Himself!)
Firstly thanks to all of you who have subscribed recently. Especially you guys from the Peter Santenello channel. I can't thank Peter, or you new subscribers enough. Secondly I wanted to do an episode introducing myself to new subscribers... Additionally including some new information for long time listeners, viewers and subscribers. One of the things I get a little tired of is sitting in front of the camera 'vlog style' and talking about stuff. Therefore I hit upon the idea of interviewing myself. Both poking fun at the 'Interview Style' as well as being able to answer questions rather than just explain everything. So this episode is fun and hopefully informative for new subscribers. Weirdly enough my experience is I forget I'm being interviewed by... Myself! And there is a lot of content here about life as a nomad. Challenges and successes. As well what I describe as the 'dream' state of travel this way. That is to say, sometimes when I am traveling or even camping for a long time I reach a sort of meditative state. This is the assertion that time for nomads is experienced differently from people back in the world. Even more, riffing on the theme that there are many people in the daily 'grind', or 'rat race' who would like to get out. However commitments and the momentum of life in the rat race kind of keeps you there. Never fear though... If you want to travel, sooner or later you will travel. And if you want to be a nomad, sooner or later you'll find a way to do it. Certainly there are challenges and 'we' talk about those challenges in this episode. For example sometimes you have to break out of the reverie to 'get stuff done' just like everyone else in the world. The theme that the world we nomads experience is not the same as the world shown on social media and even so called 'main stream' media, is also a strong part of this episode. My experience -- and I think I speak for most nomads here -- is that most people in this country are friendly and want to help if they can. The challenge is in how we approach interactions and whether we're maintaining a positive attitude ourselves. We all have better days and worse days, so it's not a hard and fast thing. But travel does broaden the mind and soften judgements about situations and people. Also I produce audio podcasts for each episode after they have been posted on you tube.
