Legends In The Round: Glaser Sound Studio
Join AES Nashville for another "Legends in the Round" featuring Glaser Studio aka. Hillbillly Central. Guests include Jim, Chuck, and June Glaser, Claude Hill, Kyle Lenning and Eric Paul. In 1970 Glaser Sound was nicknamed “Hillbilly Central" and the new location for the Glaser Brothers to record their ground breaking albums. The Hillbilly Central scene reached its pop peak in 1976, when RCA Records released Wanted! The Outlaws, featuring Glaser, Jennings, Willie Nelson and Jessi Colter, Country Music’s first Platinum Album. Besides the many albums the Glaser Brothers produced, the studio was popular for artists like, Kenny Rogers, Barbara Mandrell, Dr. Hook, Jimmy Buffett, Waylon Jennings, and the Dukes of Hazard narrations were done there, Hank Williams Jr, Merle Haggard and the list goes on and on. The ground breaking John Hartford “Aeroplane” album was recorded there as well. Thanks to all who came to the event and to all who helped make it possible, including (but not limited to) our panelists and all at Compass Records & Studio.
