Camino de Santiago: From Logroño to Castrojeriz | Days 8–14

🥾 Camino de Santiago – Episode 2 | Days 8–14: Logroño to Castrojeriz In this second episode of our Camino de Santiago adventure, we continue walking the Camino Francés from Logroño to Castrojeriz—covering Days 8 through 14 of our 34-day pilgrimage across Spain. This stretch of the Camino is where things really started to change. The excitement of starting had settled into routine, the physical grind became very real, and we began to understand what people mean when they say “the Camino provides.” From vineyard paths and charming villages to the incredible arrival into Burgos and our first real taste of the Meseta, this part of the journey brought new challenges, unforgettable people, and some important lessons. Along the way we talk about: • Surviving albergue snoring 😂 • Why cash still matters on the Camino • Walking together vs walking alone • The friendships that form with fellow pilgrims • Why Burgos feels like such a major milestone • The mental shift that happens when you reach the Meseta One of our favorite moments was seeing the famous sign before Burgos: “Since the pilgrim crossed the mountains of Navarre and saw the plains of Spain, he has not enjoyed a more beautiful view than this.” If you’re planning your own Camino, dreaming about it, or just love travel stories filled with a little adventure, reflection, and humor—we’re glad you’re here. We’re Jay & Beans—documenting early retirement, excellent adventures, and the belief that life is meant to be lived while we’re still healthy enough to do ALL the things.
