Dalle spettacolari Cascate del Rutor al Rifugio Deffeyes: trekking ad anello - Valle d’Aosta

August 13, 2025 We depart from La Joux (1600 m), above La Thuile, and take Trail 3, which winds through woods, streams, and breathtaking views. The climb takes us to the spectacular Rutor Waterfalls, where the third and most impressive waterfall leaves us breathless. We continue toward the evocative Lac du Glacier, a glacial lake that slowly retreats, leaving behind silent and surreal landscapes. With a final push, we reach the Deffeyes Refuge (2500 m), at the foot of the majestic Rutor Glacier, where we treat ourselves to a well-deserved lunch break with a view, dessert, and a refreshing beer. For the return journey, we opt for a circular route, more technical than the outward journey but incredibly panoramic, which gives us a unique perspective on the third waterfall and the entire valley. An intense and exciting hike.
