Büssing 8000 - Start of a restoration in a class of its own | Part 1

Büssing AG existed from 1903 until 1971, when the company was bought by MAN. Over time, Büssing became one of the largest manufacturers of buses and trucks. A lion was the distinctive company logo, incidentally an allusion to the company's headquarters in Braunschweig, the Lion City. Helmut Hoffmann, the classic car enthusiast is currently restoring a Büssing 8000. This is only possible because Helmut can't throw anything away. ** watch free of advertising on eurotransport.de/tv ** And so, on his company premises in Oberhausen, there is simply everything that makes the heart of a truck restorer beat faster. For example, the original Büssing GD-6 engine with 150 hp. A stroke of luck? No, it's simply because Helmut Hoffman has been putting cars and parts away for 40 years, saving them for those great moments when a classic truck is brought back to life.
