The Büssing 5000 restoration begins with a journey back to the early days of the German transport industry. Almost 80 years after its service on the roads of the post-war era, this historic truck is set to rise again. The Büssing 5000 was once part of the history of Elflein Transport & Logistics. Company founder Wolfgang Elflein recalls the tough early years, driving without power steering, and a time when every order counted. For the rebirth of the legendary 105, the team at the Commercial Vehicle Veterans Center in Oberhausen is working with extensive experience and meticulous attention to detail. The wooden frame, body, engine, and historic components are being refurbished or faithfully reconstructed step by step. It quickly becomes clear: A true truck restoration involves far more than just paint and new parts. It preserves technology, memories, and an important piece of transport history.
