Will Ohio State Be Better or Worse in 2026?

Ohio State Football, Ryan Day, and the Ohio State Buckeyes' 2026 season are the focus of this video as I determine whether Ohio State will be better or worse than last season. The Buckeyes once again have one of the nation's most talented rosters, but replacing key players like Caleb Downs, Carnell Tate, Arvell Reese, and Sonny Styles, while competing for another Big Ten Championship and a trip to the College Football Playoff, won't be easy. A schedule featuring Texas, Indiana, USC, Iowa, Oregon, Nebraska, and Michigan is tough, too. Will Ohio State improve, or is some regression coming? They are almost a lock to regress in terms of regular-season record; at best, they will go 12-0 again, which would be a push. However, say this team goes 10-2 like the 2024 team but then wins the national championship, then their record is better, particularly in top 10 games. In terms of power ratings and team quality, looking at Ohio State's roster and coaching staff, it's hard to replace the NFL talent, but Julian Sayin and Jeremiah Smith come back. I would predict Ohio State to slightly regress there, too, due to likely having fewer first-round picks and over 50 new players, but they could improve.
