The REAL Reason Oregon Keeps Losing in the College Football Playoff

Oregon Football, Dan Lanning, and the Oregon Ducks' recent College Football Playoff losses are the focus of this video as I examine why one of college football's best programs has continued to fall short on the biggest stage. Despite elite recruiting, outstanding coaching, and championship-caliber rosters, Oregon has been unable to break through in the College Football Playoff, losing to Ohio State 41-21 in the Rose Bowl and Indiana 56-22 in the Peach Bowl. Is it bad luck, matchups, roster construction, Dan Lanning's preparation, or something deeper? Since 2023, Dan Lanning has only lost 5 games: to the runner-up Washington Huskies, the national champions Ohio State (who Oregon beat in round one), and Indiana. Against the Buckeyes and Hoosiers, I would argue Oregon had the inferior staff and starting roster. Entering 2026, I believe Oregon has upgraded its staff, particularly on defense, and now has the best roster in college football. Lanning is on the same path that Kirby Smart and Ryan Day have been on. He is learning, and the last two CFP losses were not as bad as some said.
