Does Watchmen still hold up today?

Watchmen is a 12 issue comic book series written by Alan Moore and illustrated by Dave Gibbons that was published by DC Comics and celebrates it's 35th anniversary this year. Here's my review of the book that is often said to be the greatest Graphic Novel of all time, but how does it read for a new reader? Is it as perfect as the acclaim would make you think?
