This beautiful video marks the 25th anniversary of the foundation of the first ashram of Kriya Yoga Institute, at Homestead Florida. This is the ashram and Mother Center where Gurudev Paramahamsa Hariharanandaji lived the last five years of his life, and from where his able successor and current Guru, Paramahamsa Prajnananandaji continues to spread the message of Kriya Yoga to all spiritual seekers in the Americas. The video shows many beautiful scenes from the lives of these great masters of Kriya Yoga on the ashram premises. Paramahamsa Prajnananandaji poignantly describes the ashram as Gurudev's home and talks about its history and vision. It was founded on Autumnal Equinox day, September 22, 1997. Gurudev established this ashram in Homestead (Miami area) to become a bridge between North and South America. There is now a beautiful tropical garden here, and he himself was the divine gardener. Beloved Gurudev wanted that each one of us makes our life a garden, where we should plant many flowering and fruit-bearing trees of love, kindness, compassion, and sympathy. In simple words, Gurudev said, "It is a place of soul culture." Since the beginning, the ashram has become a celebrated place of sadhana and spiritual practice. It is a place of meditation, teaching, and practice of Kriya Yoga. It has been the Mother Center for the Americas, to spread the message of Kriya Yoga as taught by our beloved Gurudev and the lineage of Kriya Yoga masters like Paramahamsa Yoganandaji, Swami Shriyukteshwarji, and so on. The place is enriched with the sweet memories of the last several years of beloved Gurudev's life, as he lived here and guided countless people on the spiritual path. Those memories and the divine presence are still nurtured lovingly by Prajnananandaji and all spiritual seekers are welcome here to visit, meditate here and experience the divine bliss. The video stitches together many events and incidents celebrated at the ashram. Disciples of the great Kriya Yoga masters recount how the ashram developed under Gurudev's care and direct involvement, the transformation of the grounds from a jungle to a lush tropical garden, the construction of the meditation hall, and establishing Gurudev's statue, which he himself took a keen interest in shaping exactly as he wanted it to be. You can listen to Gurudev's loving and divine teachings as he participates in several functions or tours of the garden with his disciples and visitors. Several of the disciples share their own experiences of what Gurudev meant to them. There are scenes from Gurudev's last birthday, which was celebrated here in 2002, and then you can listen to Prajnananandaji describe the last moments of Gurudev's life as he withdrew himself within, slowed down and regulated his breathing, and serenely and peacefully merged into the Divine. The video also shows Paramahamsa Prajnananandaji continuing his time in the ashram in a similar manner, nurturing the garden, guiding spiritual seekers, and teaching us valuable lessons on how we can maintain inner peace and calmness in all situations by trusting in God and Gurus.
