Milky Way Cake - Subscriber Series Recipe #119- If you like the candy bars, you’ll LOVE the cake!
Milky Way Cake 10 fun-sized Milky Way candy bars 2 sticks butter, room temperature, divided 2 cups of sugar 4 eggs 2 1/2 cups flour 1 1/4 cups whole buttermilk 1/2 teaspoon baking soda Preheat oven to 325°. Grease and flour a Bundt pan or tube pan. Place candy bars and one stick of the butter in a double boiler or a glass bowl over boiling water. Stir constantly until the candy bars and butter are melted. This will take several minutes. Set aside. *Note: DO NOT microwave as the caramel will harden and not mix correctly. Cream the sugar, the second stick of butter, and the eggs. Add the flour, buttermilk, baking soda, and the melted candy bars/butter mixture. Mix until just incorporated. Do not overmix. Bake for one hour and test to see if a toothpick comes out clean. You may need to add an additional 10 minutes of baking time, but be careful not to overbake and dry out the cake. Allow the cake to cool for a few minutes, then remove from the pan and allow the cake to cool completely before frosting. FROSTING: 1/2 cup canned table cream 1/2 stick of butter 1 1/4 cups sugar 1/2 cup marshmallow cream 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips In a medium saucepan mix the cream, butter, and sugar. Bring to a gentle boil, stirring constantly, over low to medium-low heat. Boil for exactly five minutes. Remove from the heat. Stir in the marshmallow cream, then the chocolate chips until melted and well incorporated. Spread or pour over the cake. You will need to do this fast as the frosting will harden quickly. Allow to cool for one hour before slicing. CONTACT INFORMATION: Come Sit At My Table P.O. Box 1041 Mt.
