Are Fish Back in the Canal | Pike and Perch Ireland Fishing Update

Irish canal fishing for pike and perch is starting to show signs of life, but are the fish really back yet. After a previous session with no activity at all, I returned to check multiple canal spots for pike, perch, and baitfish. In this session, I headed back to the canal to see if things had improved and whether fish activity was picking up again. Last time out, the canal felt completely empty, so this was all about checking if anything had changed. I covered four different spots that have held fish in the past. Not every location showed signs of life, but one spot was full of roach, with hundreds of baitfish moving through the area. I also spotted two perch and had contact with them, although I did not manage to land them this time. To top it off, I managed to catch one pike during the session. This video is all about understanding canal fishing in Ireland, tracking fish activity, and seeing how pike and perch behave as conditions begin to improve. It is definitely an improvement compared to the last session, but it is clear the canal is not fully switched on yet. Hopefully in the coming weeks, fishing will get back to how it was last year.
