Big Creek Church Road Railroad Crossing, Millington, TN

originally recorded on 3-25-26 Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with GE Uniform Look LEDs, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights. Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with GE Uniform Look LEDs, a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights. After catching the southbound grain train on the north side of Covington, I decided to hop on US 51 and chase it down to this crossing in Millington, as I wanted to try getting another video of it down here. Thankfully I was able to beat it here with plenty of time to spare, and here we get to see this southbound grain train once again. This crossing is a pretty nice one, featuring an old mid-1970s ICG install at it. Sometime between 2007 and 2012, CN replaced the original 1st Gen Safetran mechanical bell here with the current GS Type 2 e-bell. Then, sometime between 2014 and when ‪@EthantheRailfanner‬ first visited this crossing back in 2020, CN upgraded this crossing to LED by replacing all of the original Safetran 8 inch lights here with the current LED Safetran 12x24s. Thankfully, since then, the crossing has remained largely unchanged, which is nice to see. This crossing features some of the oldest signals left on the CN Fulton Subdivision, along with some of the oldest gate mechs along the line still! Both signals still retain their original mid-70s Safetran gate mechs, which are quite nice to see, and I believe only one other of these survive on the line at another crossing here in Millington. I believe this is also the first crossing I've been able to record with a "loud tone" GS Type 2 e-bell at it as well. Admittedly these are probably my favorite variant of GS Type 2, though part of that might be because I remember them from watching the videos of crossing malfunctions that ‪@owensri2‬ recorded when I was a kid over and over again, lol. Nice to finally get one of these recorded myself!
