1970-71 Kiwis Rugby League Legend, Bernie Lowther goes back in time and tells his incredible story

The game was tough and built for men of all shapes and sizes when Bernie Lowther used to lace up and take the field for Richmond Rovers back in the late 60s. There wasn't interchange, there wasn't any 'six-agains', and you played for pride in your jersey, and the people bloody loved it. Lowther would play for Auckland at a time when they beat the 1971 touring Kangaroos side, and would also play centre in a drought-breaking 24 - 3 victory for the Kiwis against their Australian rivals.
