Kiwi Rugby League Legend, Richie Barnett, shares his incredible NRL journey

There was a time when Richie Barnett came to a cross roads, and out of basket ball, Rugby Union, & Rugby League, he chose League. Growing up in Auckland and playing for Otahuhu, Richie would be scouted by the great Arthur Beeston and made his debut for the Cronulla Sharks in 1994. Only 1 year later Barnett made his Kiwis debut in the 1995 world cup, and later down the track he would captain his beloved Kiwis at the 2000 World Cup. After almost signing with the Auckland Warriors, Barnett chose to continue his career at the Sydney Roosters before moving on to the UK Super League after a horrific face clash with Aussie Winger Wendell Sailor cost him many months on the sidelines and playing in the 2000 Grand Final. Barnett chats about battling ME/CFS while still playing in the Super League, and the toll it took on him. What a legend of the game.
