Chelsea Bridge - Real Book Journey #60

Chelsea Bridge is one of the most hauntingly beautiful ballads in the jazz repertoire, and for Real Book #60, I'm revisiting this Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn classic—this time on tenor saxophone. A few months ago, I shared my alto sax interpretation of Chelsea Bridge, and I wanted to return to the tune with a different voice as part of my ongoing Real Book series. The tenor brings a warmer, darker character that beautifully complements the tune's reflective mood, and I hope you enjoy hearing the contrast between the two performances. My goal with this series is to record my way through the jazz standards of the Real Book, one tune at a time. Whether you're a fellow saxophonist, a jazz student, or simply someone who loves timeless jazz melodies, I hope this performance inspires you to revisit this incredible standard. If you enjoyed the performance, I'd appreciate it if you would: 🎷 Like the video 🎷 Subscribe for more Real Book tenor sax covers 🎷 Leave a comment letting me know which jazz standard I should record next!
