AHE: A PEARL OF LIFE
This farm resembles an unusual old steamer that’s been anchored in the atoll’s lagoon for years. Captain Patrick sailed here in the '70s and founded Kamoka Pearl a couple of decades later. This was at a time when the price of pearls was high and, unlike now, the small island of Ahe was filled with pearl farms. Patrick Humbert chose this island as a place to live ‘outside the system’. However, the islands of the Tuamotu Archipelago are not very suitable for enjoying a carefree life, as shown in Bounty chocolate bar commercials. And all who coming here make a life-changing decision.
