Today, I'm meeting Shane Benzie, a world-renowned British coach, specialist in the biomechanics of movement, and author of The Lost Art of Running. Between London and Oxford, I took a real running course with him to understand the difference between "running"... and running WELL. Shane has coached numerous elite athletes, including Jasmin Paris, the only woman to complete the Barkley Marathon (160km ultra trail), and he's developing a unique approach inspired by Kenyan and Ethiopian runners, based on fluidity, posture, and the natural elastic energy of the human body. In this video, I learn, or relearn: what an efficient and natural stride is, how to correct your footing and positioning, and above all, how to rediscover the joy of running without fear of injury. Shane Benzie made me understand that we don't "push" the ground when we run: we recycle it. Our entire body is an elastic system designed to bounce back, not to force. A revelation!
