[1, 2] Minimalist Luggage: Climbers only carry a small bag (daypack) containing drinking water, high-calorie food (snacks/bread), a raincoat, a first aid kit, and a flashlight (headlamp). We woke up early in the morning and began our trek to the summit at 5:30 a.m. After approximately two hours of travel, we reached the summit of Mount Merbabu. The highest peak is at 3,142 meters above sea level. From the summit, we could see several mountains at once: Lawu, Sumbing, Sindoro, Prau, Andong, and Ungaran.
