A woman claims she was drugged and abused by her husband while unconscious. He allegedly filmed and sold the videos on adult content websites. The story involves Aline, a 38-year-old Brazilian hairdresser, who left Brazil seven years ago seeking a better life in the United States. "I was married for three years and, without my knowledge, I was drugged and poisoned. I was constantly dreaming about people in my room, people assaulting me, me being abused," she reported. In Philadelphia, in 2019, Aline met Hyan Roberto de Oliveira, a 29-year-old Brazilian, who gained her trust. In the first few months, she began to experience severe physical symptoms: vomiting, diarrhea, hair loss, bruises all over her body, and mental confusion. "Many nights I heard flashing lights, filming noises. When I woke up, I saw a cell phone positioned to film," she said. She only discovered what was happening after three years of marriage. Aline reported Hyan in the United States, and a Massachusetts court ordered his arrest, prohibiting him from approaching her and their children. Family members of her ex-husband are also accused of participating in the abuse. Isolated, she received support from the Brazilian consulate and the Federal Police, who are investigating the case in Brazil for possible connections to international criminal networks involved in sexual exploitation. Today, Aline suffers from depression, panic disorder, and post-traumatic stress, but she remains strong: she enrolled in a Criminology program to study these crimes and defend other women.
