This Ohio band is associated with Wild Bill Davison who was a member of the band and appears on their 1925 sessions for Gennett. He is not on this record although, in the past, some collectors claimed that he was. I seem to remember him stating, in an interview, that the day of this session he was drunk and didn't show up but perhaps that is the reason why there is only one cornet/trumpet on this session. Jazz music is my passion and my education has been from many great musicians and from listening and reading everything that I could to feed my brain on music and history. During the Covid-19 Pandemic I, and all of the musicians in New Orleans lost ALL of our work because we couldn’t perform in public so, while many people had the option of working from home we were unable to make a living for an extended period of time. It was at this time that I decided to share my music archives with the world so we could have a little pleasure to pass the time together.
