Jesse brewed this one, a BJCP Category 11b, Best Bitter, which is the category Fuller’s London Pride falls into. Mike had ran across a post on homebrew talk where someone had links to a twitter account posting photos of the Fuller’s Brew book with ingredients and amounts going into a brew day. Jesse used those images to formulate this recipe. The post / thread he’s referring to can be found here: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/threads/... We mention that Fuller’s uses a partigyle method to brew their beer, we did an introduction to partigyle video you can find here if you’re interested.    • Video   We are trying to organize a Fuller’s inspired partigyle of our own, but it hasn’t happened yet. We haven’t given up on it, so stay tuned. Jesse used Golden Promise as the base malt, he thought Maris Otter might work better next time, Crystal 150, and a touch of chocolate malt for specialty malts. Target and Challenger hops for bittering, Challenger for flavor, and East Kent Goldings coming in at the end. This beer has a nice chocolate aroma and flavor, great malt character, and nicely bitter by British beer standards. You can find the full recipe here: https://cobrewtalk.com/oh-blimey-best... Jesse thinks the BJCP Tasting Exam takers averaged about a 35 for the beer, but wasn’t 100% sure because he didn’t see the score sheets. In any case, he had to make himself lay off of the tasting so that we would have some left for this episode. Greedy bastard didn’t share any with Mike!
