Stop Hitting Your Forehand Volley Out (Do This Instead)

Struggling with your forehand swinging volley? In this CCC, I work with Lauren on one of the most aggressive shots at the kitchen — the forehand swinging volley, and more importantly, when and how to use it effectively. Her biggest issues were: • Using too much wrist • Leaning back through contact • Coming up through the shot • Being too relaxed and sitting on her heels Her body positioning and movement patterns were making the shot inconsistent. We broke down the mechanics and focused on building a stronger, more stable body position through contact. We worked on: • Staying lower with bent knees • Leaning slightly forward instead of falling back • Using forward momentum through the shot • Keeping the paddle and arm on a cleaner path • Using the core and shoulders for pace and power • Understanding when to attack with the swinging volley Once those adjustments clicked, her swinging volley became much cleaner, more controlled, and much more aggressive. If your forehand swinging volley feels inconsistent or rushed, this breakdown will help you understand why it’s happening and how to fix it. This video is part of my CCC (Cori’s Court Correction) series — real players, real coaching, real fixes you can apply to your own game. 👉 Subscribe for more pickleball lessons, drills, and strategy!
